Winter can be rough on your vehicle. Cold temperatures, snow and ice, and salt on the roads can cause havoc on your brakes, tires and suspensions. Now that spring has sprung and we are finally witnessing some warmer temperatures, make sure you vehicle is ready for the warmer weather too. Bring your vehicle into an auto service shop in Bucks County if you think it needs any repairs after checking the below components.
Belts & Hoses
Replacing a belt is a relatively minor repair but a failure can result in vehicle damage and a more costly repair. If you notice any belt squeaking or squealing, it’s important to get your vehicle inspected for any damage. While we have your vehicle in our auto service shop, we will be sure to inspect and replace any worn or cracked drive belts. It’s also as important to inspect hoses that are blistered, brittle or really soft. Usually if belts and hoses are older than five years, they probably need to be replaced.
During winter and colder weather, your battery works extra hard. Have an auto technician test an old or weak battery and replace if necessary, especially if they are more than three years old. Remember it will be cheaper to replace an old battery than to go through the trouble of breaking down and paying to have your vehicle towed.
